Learning Disability
I'm at Barnes and Noble and this mom tells her kids it's time to go, and he doesn't look at her, tells her "I don't want to!", and keeps playing. After telling him 15 times with no response she finally had to pry the toy from his hand and he starts screeching like a bird being strangled. It was painful to listen to.
I finally opened my big mouth, "Do you ever try spanking him?"
She retorted: "He has a learning disability."
I thought, "That’s funny. So do my kids!" Now I don’t know the kid’s medical condition, but it was obvious that he understood exactly what she was saying and flat out refused to obey. I think it’d be better called "obedience disability" or better yet, "sin." When "learning disability" handcuffs a parent from obeying God’s instruction to discipline his child, it’s a tragedy.
