Do You Know Your Worldview?
Your worldview is how you look at the world. Your worldview answers the big questions like, “Where do we come from? Why are we here? What is truth?”
Every believer needs worldview training. For too long Christianity has been slowly pushed into the corner of subjectivity and special people groups. But the time has come to regain the thinking that used to dominate the pre-evolution era.
Worldview training is essential. Not only because it integrates everything—all of life—into one colossal puzzle that makes sense, but because it addresses postmodernistic thinking at its core. In essence, it compels the human to make the decision: is Christ Lord or is He not?
After spending a week with Jay Wegter, founder of The Gospel for Life Ministries, my perspective has changed. It’s bigger—way bigger. I think every true Christian knows that Christianity is not an isolated pocket of optional beliefs. But I don’t think we live that way. I don’t think we witness that way. Nothing will give you greater confidence in evangelism than to let the authority of Christ over all things both in your head and over every molecule in existence to saturate your thinking. Christ is either Lord of all or He was the Evil Deceiver. The Bible is either the holy, inerrant Word of God, or it’s the fattest lie since Satan’s deception in the Garden of Eden. People like to say that Jesus was a good man or that the Bible is a good book, but to think that either holds authority over every part of their life is almost repulsive. But you can’t call Jesus or the Bible good and at the same time refuse their authority. They are either the only way or they are the biggest hoax in all of history.
This is what makes evolution so deadly. It removes the Creator. If you remove the Creator you must replace Him with some impersonal cosmic force with no moral values or conscience. I am convinced that every human who holds any moral values at all is a walking contradiction unless he holds to the Bible and the God of the Bible. Without the Bible there is no rational for morals, truth, our existence, and our purpose for being here.
If evolution is true I can justify every level of wickedness imaginable. Hitler used it to justify Nazism. And the result? The murder of six million innocent people. Slave traders used it to warrant slavery. And the result? The enslavement, rape, and torture of millions of African slaves. Stalin used it to condone communism. And the result? The murder of 20 million innocent people (based on Robert Conquests, The Great Terror: Stalin’s Purge of the Thirties, which R. J. Rummel believes is only one third the total number.
