The Vision Breakdown
The vision breaks down into a few key steps:
- Plant a church in a major, growing urban city of the US, following Paul’s example who passed up the smaller cities of Amphipolis and Apollonia to preach at the commerce-crazy city of Thessalonica (Acts 17:1) where he knew the gospel would find a spreading ground.
- Raise up elder-material leaders from green to seasoned from within the church plant, men not seeking status but service, men with a passion to see lives changed and Christ honored.
- Require that these leaders be qualified as laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, sharing their faith on a regular basis, tithing regularly to the church, discipling men in personal holiness, living a transparent life of humility, and training the flock in how to do ministry.
- Commit 10% of the church budget to planting more churches, and one by one, raise up leaders and send them out, providing support as needed to plant new churches in other growing urban-centers.
- Each church plant will receive support and help as long as they remain faithful to the distinctive stripes of the home church plant. Every year, bring all the church plants together for a major conference on preaching and evangelism. At each conference, send the people out to storm the city with the gospel.
- Every church plant be encouraged to pursue a zealous and commitment to faithful, dynamic, passionate preaching of the Word of God for the salvation of the lost and the growth of the saved.
