The Voice of the Martyrs printed a letter from Pastor Richard Wurmbrand written to terrorists, an excerpt from his book, Jesus—Friend to Terrorists.¹

Wurmbrand points at something we often miss: even terrorists love. In fact, they terrorize out of love, love for their country, their religion, their regime...But their love is narrow-minded. It's love for one life at the of another life. Jesus loved all men, terrorist or pacifist, war monger or protester.

After reading his letter I looked at the dates printed under his name: 1909-2001. How strange. This man lived to an age just eight years shy of a century. That's a long time for a man who spent 14 years being beaten and tortured in prison!

But Scripture promises long life to the godly (Ps 91:16; Prov 3:16), and Wurmbrand receive that promise.
