A New Name Written Down in Glory
Paul watched living examples of the power of the gospel.
That's why he could live and die for this simple yet profound truth, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek" (Rom 1:16).
Last night at Community Life Tuesday, another soul gave her life to Jesus. Linda Paxton tells the story:
"Wiley Gates, 6th grader, gave her life to Christ tonight. I was on my way to the car and stopped to talk to the boys who were fishing off of the bridge. I asked Wiley if he knew what Jesus said to Peter, 'I will make you fishers of men.'
"Then I asked if he knew the story of catching fish and asked if he wanted to hear it and he said, 'yes.' I told him the one where Jesus said throw your nets on the other side and there were so many fish that the net broke. Then we read from John 14:3-6.
We went through the gospel and he understood and gave his life to Christ!
