The easiest way out of sin is to confess it and move on.

It is our nature to try to escape it a thousand other ways like covering it up, ignoring it, doing more good deeds to soothe our tortured conscience, or even giving up and letting it control us. But all these approaches will only reap more sin and misery.

Humbly admit your sin, seek the forgiveness of God and whoever else you offended, and then go do what's right.
