Where Real Future is Found!
I love my wife, my kids, my job, my Mac...but I have no guarantee that when I wake up tomorrow I'll still have these blessings.
There's only one guarantee in this life. In a USA Today article posted at 12:37 a.m. today, Rhonda Abrams wrote an article regarding Senatory Hillary Rodham Clinton's almost endless battle to become the Democratic presidential nominee. On the first page she made an ear-pricking statement: "...there's a big difference between giving something enough time to grow and holding on when there's no real future."1
Abrams meant this for busines entrepreneurs. But the pointed observation applies to every living soul in a far more profound way when you remember that your "future" does not end with your last breath.
What keeps you getting up every day? That sterling degree you're working towards? The chance to hold your spouse in your arms? That big project you want to finish? Making it to Friday? These aren't bad things. But if that's what keeps you setting your alarm every night before your head hits the pillow, it's a miniscule investment compared to what you could live for.
The only real future that lasts forever is Jesus Christ.
