When Your Title Keeps You From Sharing Christ

Worldview trainer, professor, author, and evangelist, Jay Wegter, spoke for a collection of Ph.D.'s, professors, and heavy hitter theologians a few weeks ago.

At one point in his speech he stopped and arrested their consciences:

"I want to challenge you go to a place where people don't call you 'doctor' and where you don't have a captive audience and go talking to people on the street about Jesus Christ." After the conference several of the doctors came up and shared how convicting his statement was.

Jay Wegter is a gem in the kingdom of God. He is an intellectual genius who loves Christ and takes his students witnessing. It's almost comical to hear of a professor trying to teach people how to evangelize when he rarely shares himself. But you will not find this in Jay.

History is marked with many evangelists who possessed more heat than light. God, we plead you to raise up more men like Jay, who study the world, know how to think, and yet humbly take it to the streets in love for the lost. I encourage you to check out Jay's ministry at The Gospel For Life.
